To celebrate the Queen's platinum Jubilee in June, we successfully ran a Spinathon Fundraising Event: Cycling for 70 hours to mark 70 years!
What is the CF Jubilee Spinathon?
We assembled a team of riders who cycled in shifts to keep the pedals turning nonstop on a number of spin bikes for 70 consecutive hours, from 5pm on Wednesday 1st June until 3pm Saturday 4th June.
Bikes were based outside at the front of the community centre during the nicer weather, with others situated indoors in the Wright Room and cafe.
70+ riders took part and, over the 4 days, they cycled the equivalent of Land's End to John O'Groats... and back!
What are we raising money for?
All funds raised from the event will go towards the much-needed upgrade of our audio-visual equipment throughout our rooms and halls to benefit our users and visitors. Last year we raised just over £2,000 towards this project by taking part in the Ilkley Half Marathon, with the help of Ilkley Grammar School. This year, we have so far managed to raise over £3,000 with this even more ambitious event!
How can I support the event?
You can donate via our CF Jubilee Spinathon Just Giving page: Clarke Foley Community Centre is fundraising for Clarke Foley (justgiving.com) or donate money directly at the Clarke Foley Community Centre. The total continues to climb!
